A footprint that fits the barge or quay

Compact, self-contained, modular systems fit barges, docks, and space-limited quaysides, then scale up or down to the volume in front of you. No lagoons, no pits, no separate equipment yard, and it moves when the work does.

Clear water back to the waterway

Water comes in as slurry and leaves clean enough to return to the harbor or waterway, reuse on site, or discharge where permitted. That closed loop is what keeps an environmentally sensitive site out of trouble.

Harbor sediment and marine-construction spoil leave as a dry, stackable pile instead of a soupy slurry. Lighter to barge or truck off, cheaper to dispose of, and dry enough to pass the paint-filter test at the gate.

Characterize the material and the site

We test the sediment or spoil for solids load, particle size, contaminants, and dewaterability, then design the system around the deck space, access, and the discharge target before anything mobilizes.

Set up over the water and run

Our crew rigs the modular train onto the barge, dock, or quay, injects polymer to bind the fines, and pulls water out of the material as it feeds through.

Proof from the field
550 tons off a biosolids lagoon

S3S de-sludged two anaerobic sewage lagoons using a closed clear-water loop. The sludge came out as 550 tons of dry, stackable solids that passed every paint-filter test, and clean water went straight back into the lagoons. The clearest proof of the closed-loop model this page is built on.

Marine applications

Waterfront work removes both options you normally have: there is no room for a settling pond and no easy route for a truck. S3S separates on the footprint that exists and returns clear water to the waterway.

Marine piling

Piling over water leaves nowhere to put a pit and no simple route for a truck. S3S supports reverse circulation piling from the barge or the shoreline, taking the return straight off the pile, separating it within the deck space available, and sending clear water back to the waterway. You handle the foundations, piling, seawalls, and quays. We handle what comes back up.

Waterfront remediation

Contaminated waterfront sediment is priced by the cubic yard, and traditional dredge spoil disposal can run past $500 a yard. Most of what you are paying to move is water. S3S separates the sediment at the water's edge, returns clear water to the waterway, and sends dry, load-ready solids off site.

On-site processing cuts transport and disposal cost by 60 to 80%, and clean aggregate can come back out of the stream for beneficial reuse and wetland restoration.
